| I do not subcontract, you need a contractor when you are building a home. You do not need one to fix your fence. If I send you a person, you deal with them directly. If you like them and hire them, you deal directly with them. Some give me a small referral fee, some do the odd favor for me and from some I get nothing. The most important thing to me is a happy customer. For me, A happy customer is a return customer and tells their friends about me. And this is what I like. |
Well I am the son of a well known
Mechanical Engineer who has won
many Design Canada Awards.
| Before I became a handyman, I have already designed some successful products for my dad such as this tow truck which you may have seen around. Called the Vulcan Cradle Snatcher. (Vulcan Equipment Ltd. Came up with the name not me) |

My dad took my original designed added some great things to make it work better. My boom design was used and a pivot which would be the only tow truck in the world which could remove a car from a parked place in My swing arms in the back were replaced with very strong Vinyl straps and my dad designed a better way to strap the tires, of the vehicle it was towing, for added safety. If I got along with my dad, we really could have done some amazing things together. Be despite our different ways of doing things, we still did. \ Beat that Holmes! |

I remember, when I was a kid, that a German Design Magazine wrote about the 4 best products in the world.
One was a Japanese High speed rain
One was a portable compressor
One was a really cool
fast car jack (Called the Jiffy Jack)
my dad designed
And the other one was my
concept Cool EH?

| And this cool thing, below, called something else then, but is now known as THE HOOK AND GO, I know you have seen them around, I designed it when I was 24 yrs. old. Not bad for a kid if I do say so myself. ORIGINALLY IT WAS DESIGNED TO CARRY A CRIPPLED CAR THAT WAS TOO BADLY DAMAGED TO BE TOWED CONVENTIONALLY. and then I figured out 50 other things it could carry. |

In those days it cost $8,000 and I wanted to buy one off Vulcan equipment but they would not give me a discount. (dick heads) Nooo they sold the patent to some French Company cheap as far I as was concerned. I found out lots of other things it could tow besides cars like small offices, things which could be air dropped and then pick up with a truck all my idea. I didn't get much for that one. Just a pat on the back. Since then it has exploded into such a multi-billion dollar business. |
| They made them bigger and more expensive
and then even militaries were buying them, but some other company was
getting rich off it by then. Since then I have improved the way
containers can be picked up. I tried contacting these companies to see if
they would give me a part time job in 2010, I would love to continue where I
left off, because one one has really improved them, but not one seems
interested so I will just stick my ideas in a drawer,

| I CAME UP WITH THE HOOK AND LIFTING THE FLAT BED FIRST, THEN i FIGURED OUT HOW TO LIFT OTHER THINGS BUT MY DAD FIGURE OUT HOW IT WOULD WORK SO IT COULD BE SOLD. THE PATENTS HAVE ALREADY EXPIRED. EVERYONE IS COPYING EVERY BODY ELSE. WHAT PEOPLE DO NOT REALIZE IS PATIENTS ONLY HAVE A SHELF LIFE OF 7 YEARS. IT IS A STUPID LAW THAT SOMEONE NEEDS TO CHANGE BUT AFTER THE 7 YEARS, THE PATENTS SO NOT PROTECT THE INVENTION ANYMORE AND IT BECOMES A FREE FOR ALL. I ALREADY DESIGNED THE NEXT GENERATION BUT THIS TIME i WILL WANT A PERCENTAGE OF THE SALES. |

I did not chose the TV Media because I was already famous enough
and all I really wanted to was fix things

I started to release the pressures of being a "handyman Celebrity" by going on the bike paths where the media could not go and ride things I designed But that didn't matter, they caught up with me when I eventually had to ride on the road. |
Doing business on line, the Hungarian TV Interviewed me about doing business on the net. I basically said that, The net is an amazing place. You can find a part that you need for you car and then eavery one from everywhere tells you that they have the part you are looking for. That is the best translation I can give you.
I started to go to bike-a-thon- races charity events. Anything to get away.

| When I designed the next thing. I was cycling so much I needed an easier way to carry my bikes, hence, I invented the handy-hoist. and started selling them. no media was really interested until Canadian Tire ordered 15,000 units, but my mom got really sick and I had to walk away from the deal. |

Then my small business software
started taking off then then
one very big company wanted to buy me out.
| My software business WAS TAKING OFF AND THOSE IT WAS A GOOD PRODUCT, NOT BECAUSE i DESIGNED IT, BUT BECAUSE MY CUSTOMERS LOVED MEW FOR IT BECAUSE IT WAS EASY TO USE, IT HELPED TO FORCE ME INTO THE LIME LIGHT. A PLACE WHERE i DIDN'T REALLY LIKE TO BE. I DIDN'T UNDERSTAND THAT I WAS A CELEBRITY NOW AND ANYTHING I DID THEY WOULD WRITE ABOUT. |

I have since partnered with another company because I could not trust Cisco and now I I will have something pretty amazing. It will be the coolest thing I have even been involved with with if we all don't go bankrupt first, This year had been the slowest in the history of my business. I don't even have a business anymore, it feels more like a hobby. I may end up doing something completely different if someone offers me a job I cannot refuse.
One day I wanted to buys some plates. It used to be that I would walk into a store and everyone wanted to serve me like I was really a somebody. You have to understand in my mind I would have been very happy to be a nobody and after the last, or so I thought, article was written about me I know what I had to do. I tried to drop off the scene, as Holmes was gaining more strength in the public eye and many started watching his stupid shows, I was so happy that the mass went and followed him. I even stopped going out so the media could follow me around. |

Because I like designing and building things and because I already have designed some very cool things the media was always there to write about whatever I was working on. Including my handy-hoist but what I should have done and just stuck to Les the Handyman. About 5 years ago at the peak of my game I decided that I needed a woman in my life. And so I created a cool web site to help me with the selection process and and I was going to Advertise in the Globe and mail and The Star because I wanted a women with a brain, who liked to have fun and perhaps also liked construction too. I think as much as I tried to hide what was going on, the diligent media was there "sniffing out" another story about me. |
It just about screwed up my life and threw privacy out the window.

I included it here because I just want to show you that just about everything I have created did well except for finding a woman that got screwed up somehow. Perhaps that every time I went out people were looking at us. Now after 4 years people have finally forgotten about this article and I can try to get back to my life. I even had my own paparazzi and have no interest in going back to that life. When people say " I never heard of you I just shake my head and think to myself "Where have you been???." And in a way I am relieved. |

Designed and modified three compound mitre saw TABLES which were not very good by themselves and Assembled a new one using only the best components of each, to come up with the worlds best compound, miter saw table. Since the completion of this one I added a battery charging station and a vacuum dust extractor (they still cannot design a saw that does not clog the waste port. Even my $ 1700.00 MaKita which is the best saw on the Market.) seen below. |

If you want some kind of a tool made that does not exist yet. I would love do it
| I could not improve the light that came with the table much but it uses a bulb which can break, so I found another product and Led light that burns brighter and does not brake so I always have light if it gets dark and I can finish cutting the wood safely for a job I am working on. The Foldable pail on the right is for small pieces of scrap wood. It is faster to throw the wood into than to pick it all up at the end of the day. These little things save lots of time and I do it all for my customers. |

Last year I thought I would build something that would run entirely on the sun. It was very cool and they wrote about it because I wanted to show it to them and the world. It was a great full page article like all the rest. I was even opposite another person |

It was on three TV stations and I didn't even get one call to do something with it like get more of them and deliver pizzas with the, or build them to transport goods from one end of a factory to another. Ort carry luggage for tourists at any hotels which had cabins. I tried finding companies who were interested and realized that were were already in the recession I stopped inventing things, took the unit apart and sold it all for 1/4 my cost. |
Now this vehicle can park underground
where the old one could not.
So no where there was a parking issue before , It has been eliminated and I can now park almost anywhere.
And I did it all for you.
| I do these things to serve my customers better. My system is the only one which allows you to book in several different trades people who I trust and have used in the past, all at the same time. | When I sold this truck below I bought this van because I needed a vehicle to demonstrate the "Handy-Hoist." I almost retired here. Canadian tire bought 15,000 units and I shifted my business off to work on the project. But then I spent all my time in a shop working with my new business partner on them. |

I do not do this type of "cheap construction" but I do not understand how the government can accept this garbage and the unsuspecting customer who buys it once everything is covered over with other construction materials Anytime it rains while a house is being constructed, if the house is not protected, the wood will absorb the water and swell and in most cases the builder just hides it behind something else. I would never buy a newly constucted house. I will build my own myself. ALL THE DARKER SPOTS, ARE POTENTIAL FOR WATER DAMAGE |
