"...my
Life, is
my
business and my business
is my life...." |
| Perhaps you will have to wait for the book to get the whole story. For now, understand this - I love what I do! I'm known as "Les the Handyman" and I am good at it. Although the word "handyman" may conjure up an unpleasurable image of a person that has had many hardships in life - divorced with kids living out of the back seat of his car - that couldn't be further from the truth!! Let it be known that I actually had a pretty good life thanks to my parents. I've traveled the world, speak a few languages, attended private school (De la Salle in Toronto), have been in catholic schools most of my life and have a diploma in Hotel Restaurant and Institutional Administration with a major in Restaurant Design AND Even won s scholarship when I won a few awards in Hospitality and interior design from Ryerson University and an Associates Degree from DeVry in Electronics Technology (I am on the Deans List and the Presidents List if that kind of stuff turns your crank) My marks were in the 90's and 100's Yes I know it is a run on sentence but there are just sooooo many things to say. As "Les the Handyman," I help many people each and every day. Hopefully, with good heath and happiness, I will be able to continue serving my customers for years to come.
I do have a few hobbies. Including making this web site very friendly and easy to use. Photography, clinical engineering and riding my bicycle being the cool one. I learned how to ride horses at the Spanish Riding school of Vienna. Probably the most famous riding schools in the world for that kind of thing. Felix was my trainer and a good friend. He retired about 10 years ago. I should call him and say hi. He will remember me.
I went back to school here and took interior design at Seneca. I have one credit to go. I will finish it in my next life.
I taught woodworking for Metro Toronto school board to kids whose parents wanted Les the Handyman teaching their kids. We learned how to use outdoor adhesives, build bird houses and how to fix furniture and let's not forget that the kidfs had to meaure things with tape measures. At the end of the class they al got Les the Handyman taper measures
I learned how to carve wood from some of the masters of Europe, I am now working on a revolutionary design of a house that I would like to build ne day with its own rainwater harvesting system, and own, sewage controls as well as a living garden which filters out all the grey water and can be re-used for washing and flushing toilets.
I designed some pretty cool things and I have figured out how to sustain a system in a geo-thermal house, using geo-thermal heating and cooling system which is off grid, which means it is not tied into the national power grid where the rest of your get your electicity. I just thought I would have a women by now and I could go and do it with her. I somehow thought I would hook up with an environmentalist or horticulturalist. I guess it was not in the cards.I guess I will not find her in Canada. So as soon as I can afford it, I will go to Europe. Cool eh?
