Born on May 17, 1930, in Budapest, Hungary, Edith was the younger of two sisters. Her family was affluent and cultured. As a little girl, she was baptized a Jew. When the Nazis invaded Budapest, she witnessed many atrocities first hand. Her father was drafted into the Hungarian army and died during the war.
Because my dad dad Leslie Bubik had the "hots" for her Sister, Vera, my dads family took it upon them selves to hide her Family from the Nazis' When the news got out. and by the time all their lands and properties were full of Jews. The Bubik family, industrialists and Hungarian aristocracy were harboring almost 2000 of them before they were caught. By this time My father, My mother Vera and John and Edit were all smuggled into Vienna by their own underground, then Paris and after the war ended up in Sao, Paolo Brazil.

Edith became an accomplished dress designer and seamstress. in 1965 Edit moved to New York. She worked as a custom seamstress for the Givenchy Boutique and then for many years at Bergdorf-Goodman. She had two children, William and Paul. In later years, she nursed her husband through a long bout with cancer before he eventually passing. Edith loved gardening, fashion and all things beautiful, her friends, the opera, and her two sons above all and her nefew in Canda (me) She passes on to be with the Lord on May 24, 2011, after a ten-day illness. Friends remembered her colorful garden, delicious cakes and warm smile.
